Freshmen Orientation

Dear Eighth Grade Parent:
Welcome to Hampshire High School. Middle school records indicate that your child will be assigned to Hampshire High School beginning in the fall of 2010.
This fall marks the third year of the 392,000 square foot high school building on Big Timber Road. The facility your child will be attending is an exciting and welcome addition, allowing for expanded academic and athletic opportunities for our students and communities. The Hampshire High School staff and current student body welcomes you and looks forward to making your high school experience all that you hope for it to be.
We will hold our 2010-2011 freshman orientation and registration event on the evening of Wednesday, February 10, 2010, starting at 7:00 p.m. in the high school auditorium for all entering freshmen and their parents. The evening will give you an opportunity to acquire information and talk with representatives from our high school staff who will answer your questions regarding the academic departments, athletic programs, and extra curricular programs. We will detail opportunities to ease the transition of students to the high school setting.
Students and their parents will attend a presentation given by the school counselors and administrators. They will receive and have explained to them all materials needed for registration. The information presented in these sessions is essential for students and parents to make informed decisions about course selections and development of a four-year academic plan. Completed registration materials are to be returned to the student's current middle school by February 16th. This information is critical in our decisions to employ appropriate teaching staff for next year.
