This Friday, September 1st, is our first Early Release Day! For those of you with Late Arrival, please make a note of your 2nd period & 3rd period start times! Second period begins at 8:05 and third period begins at 8:40! Don’t be late!

Art Club

The Art Club meeting has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Thursday after school. Sorry for the inconvenience. If you have any questions about art club please see Mrs. LaRue in room 1608. See you tomorrow!

Girls Basketball

Attention all girls interested in playing basketball this season. We will be having a meeting to discuss the fall open gym schedule tomorrow morning in room 3006 starting at 7:10. See Coach Featherly if you cannot attend to receive a calendar. Open gyms will start on Tuesday September 5th at 3:15.

Class Officer Elections

Thank you all for voting in the elections this year. Congrats to our new class officers!

Senior class officers are as follows:  President is Camila Barrientos, Vice President is Nicole Jachec, Secretary is Alyssa Maslinski and Treasurer is Sam Johnson.

Sophomore Class President is Isabella Parise, Vice President is Kait Buterbaugh, Secretary is Jason Espinosa and Treasurer is Sal Nottolini.

Freshman Class President is Austin Cruz and Treasurer is Jake Louis.  We are still in need of Freshman officers, please see Ms. Hopley if you are interested.  Student Council officers, please meet with Ms. Kelly tomorrow morning at 7:15 am.

Debate Team

Do you like to argue? Are you interested in a career in law or politics? Then join the Debate Team! We will have an informational meeting today in Ms. Wolak’s room 2113 from 3-4pm. If you cannot make the meeting, make sure to grab an informational packet from Ms. Wolak today!


All students interested in being part of a student-led faith organization at Hampshire High School should come to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ kickoff meeting tomorrow at 6:45 A.M. in Mr. Braker’s room #3007. If you take the bus, just come up whenever you arrive.  You do not need to be in a sport to join! This year we will have volunteer opportunities, in-depth discussions about life as a high school student, and games/other events to promote a sense of community. Come and Be The Change at HHS!

Gender and Sexualities Alliance Club

The first meeting of the Hampshire High School Gender and Sexualities Alliance will be after school today in the library.  This club is open to members of the Hampshire High School LGBTQ community and anyone who supports them.  We will be discussing this year’s activity plans and elections of officers.

Go Gold T-shirts

GO GOLD week is back! Do you want to wear a fashionable ¾ button up baseball shirt, support a great cause, and get in to the games next week for free? The shirts will be sold next Tuesday through next Friday at lunch periods for $10. If you wear the shirt, you will get in free at all Hampshire games next week. Go Gold is a program to fight pediatric cancer, help the cause!

Sophomore Powder Puff

Attention all Sophomore girls interested in participating in powder puff, there will be a MANDATORY MEETING this Friday morning at 7:15 in the fieldhouse. Covered in this meeting will be the practice schedule and expectations. Hope to see you there.

Senior Powder Puff

Attention Senior Girls interested in playing powder puff this fall. ALL PRACTICE times have been changed to 5:15-6:15. We will meet today after school at the lacrosse field next to Gary D Wright. Be sure to have your waiver signed! Any questions see Ms. Barber in room 1102!

Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors!  There is a brief meeting tomorrow morning, August 31st at 7:10 in the Lecture Hall.  Let Mrs. Sheehan know if you cannot attend.

Class of 2018 

Prestige Portraits will be here on Tuesday, September 5th to take Senior Portraits during your lunch period in Room 1627.  This is ONLY for seniors who did not take their senior photo during the summer.


Last night in Whip-pur Sports!

Cross Country

Congratulations to the boys and girls cross country teams as all level finished in the top half of their first invitational.  The JV girls nabbed 4th place by just one place!  Leading the Whips was Stella Oury, Lindsay Baron and Mia Vonic.  The frosh/soph boys team took 4th place out of 12 teams.  They were led by Isia Morales, Jake Louis and Aiden Moseley.   

Boys Varsity Soccer

Varsity soccer had a hard loss yesterday to Elgin 0-4.  They played a tough game, never giving up.  This loss only strengthens the team and will help us to grow stronger and only get better.  Shout out to Captain Jack Fairwood, Mike Pena, and Braeden Frenette for leading the team on the field! 

JV Soccer

The JV Boys Soccer team battled a tough, talented Elgin team to a 1-1 draw last night. Their record is now 3-0-1. Jonathan Sanchez scored his 6th goal of the season through 4 games, but the man of the match was Dustin Segura as he recorded several key saves throughout the game including a penalty kick with 5 minutes left to play in a tie game. The team is back in action this Friday and Saturday as they try to win the Oregon Invitational.

Freshmen Volleyball

All of our Whip-pur volleyball teams defeated the Golden Eagles of Jacobs last night. Leading the freshmen team to victory were Lexi Kolakowski, Jozlynn Lewerentz, and Maggie Randell.

JV Volleyball

Volleyball had a program sweet last night against the Golden Eagles of Jacobs. Your JV volleyball team beat Jacobs 25 to 18 and 25 to 15. Serving from Grace Vincent, Chloe Harris, and Kara Brill lead the team to victory. The girls face Crystal Lake Central tomorrow and head to Crystal Lake South for a tournament on Saturday.
