Boys Basketball

All boys basketball players: there will be an informational meeting to go over our tryout process on Monday, October 16th, in the Fieldhouse at 7:10am.  If you can’t attend please see Coach Whitehouse.


Congratulations to the boys varsity and JV teams for their wins at Richmond-Burton on Tuesday.  Winning the JV race was Isai Morales.  On the girls side Paige Kern won the JV race and Sophia Oury notched another win at the varsity level. 

Debate Team

Please register for the October tournament by TONIGHT AT 11:59PM. You can find the link for registration in your school email. See Ms. Wolak with any questions.


Attention Seniors. HHS will host FAFSA Night on Wednesday, October 18th from 6:30 – 8:30 in the Lecture Room.  If you and your parents need help filling out the FAFSA, please come with your 2016 tax information and work with FAFSA experts from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission to complete your financial aid application in one night.  Parents and students are definitely encouraged to attend together. Please be sure to bring your school issued Chromebook and log on information. See Mr. Lis if you have any questions.

Boys Golf

All boys golf team members must turn in their equipment next Tuesday, October 17th. You may come to the golf cage before school from 7:05-7:25 or after school starting at 3:00.  All bags must be cleaned out and all shirts and Jackets cleaned and ready to turn in.

Girls Golf

Attention all members of the girls golf team:  Equipment turn-in will take place this afternoon from from 3:00-3:15 pm at the athletic cage if you haven’t already turned it in this morning.  You must bring your emptied bag, clean shirt (in a clear zip-lock baggie with your name on the baggie), and varsity girls must have a clean rain jacket to turn into Coach Ellett.  Please be prompt to either turn-in time.

Hampshire Police Explorers

Interested in a career in law enforcement? Come join the Hampshire Police Explorers. This month’s meeting will be today in the Lecture Hall, Room #2301, after school.

Junior Class Officer Meeting

Attention JUNIOR class officers, there will be a meeting Wednesday, October 18th after school in room 1107.  Please see Mrs. Hopley or Mrs. Cherry if you cannot attend. 

Literary Magazine Club

Anyone interested in being a part of the literary magazine club?  There will be an informational meeting in Ms. Coleman’s room 2107 on Friday, October 13th at 7:10 a.m.  See you there!

PBIS Challenge

The PBIS team is challenging students to be on time and present for each day of school during the month of October!  Students who meet this challenge will be put into a raffle and will be able to choose their prize!  A few options are gift cards, DJ for the musical minute, whip-pur parking for a month and so many more!  Be make sure to take your vitamins, get a good night’s rest to ensure you’re at school, on time every day! 

Relay for Life

Attention Relay for Life Committee! We will meet THIS FRIDAY, yep, TOMORROW morning in the library! Come at 7:00 AM, or as soon as your bus gets in. Be sure to remind any friends in Relay, just in case they miss this announcement. Hope to see you in the morning!

Senior Portraits

CLASS OF 2018! Calling all SENIORS, Last call for Senior Portraits! Lifetouch will be here for the final time this year to take your Senior Portrait. This is ONLY for seniors who did not take their senior photo during the summer or on September 5th. If you want to be in the 2017-2018 yearbook, come to the Auditorium Lobby during your lunchtime or ASP class from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 12th. THIS WILL BE THE LAST PHOTO SESSION AT HHS FOR YOUR SENIOR PHOTO!

Senior T-shirts

Hey seniors!  Want to design the senior class t-shirt?  Submit your artwork either by hand or digitally to Mr. Wozniak or any member of the senior class council by October 17th.  The top 4 designs will be voted on by the senior class and the winning designer will receive a free t-shirt. 

Varsity Soccer

On Tuesday, your Hampshire Varsity soccer team defeated McHenry 3-0.  Goals for the Whips were by Braeden Frenette, Kobe Frenette, and Jose Marquez.  Jason Polletta and Andrew Krajecki had 7 saves for the shutout.

JV Volleyball

The JV volleyball team played one of the best games of the season Tuesday night, but could not come out ahead of Huntley. Grace Vincent lead the team with four kills followed closely by Sydney Marchewka and Kara Brill with three each. Setter Sam Rosetti had 11 assists and middle blocker Kayla Cooper had two blocks at the net. Come watch the girls take on Crystal Lake South on Thursday.

Varsity Volleyball

Against Huntley on Tuesday, the varsity volleyball team played strong and stayed close both games but were edged out by the Red Raiders.  Maggie Seagren delivered 4 kills, 1 block, & 1 ace. Lucy Magnussen had 4 kills and 1 block from the middle. Riley Seagren added 3 kills and 3 digs.  Sophie Holtz set up 8 assists and Abby Dedina hustled for 7 digs on defense.

Stress Reduction Group

Do any of the following sound like you? “I get so nervous on tests that I can’t focus.” “I need help in finding ways to reduce my stress.”  If so, you may be interested in participating in our Stress Reduction Group.  We will meet once per week for 6 weeks and learn how to identify what stresses you out and give you coping strategies to help reduce your stress.  If you would like to participate, see your counselor before October 13th.
