Corn Classic Marching Band Festival

Tonight marks the return of the 7th annual Corn Classic Marching Band Festival held once again this year at Hampshire High School!  The festival will feature the marching bands from Burlington Central HS, Genoa-Kingston HS, and our very own Hampshire HS Marching Band.  The show will begin at 7:00 with the National Anthem being performed by the HMS 8th grade band.  Admission is $2 per person or a non-perishable canned food item to be donated to the Hampshire/Burlington Food pantry!   We hope you can join us in the Hampshire HS stadium for an evening of music, marching, and pageantry!

Financial Aid Night

Attention seniors. Our annual Financial Aid Night will be held on October 4th from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the Auditorium.  A representative from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission will present on how to apply for financial aid, scholarships, grants, loans, and much more. Graduating seniors and parents are strongly encouraged to attend. Families with underclassmen are also welcome. See your counselor for more information.

Girls Golf

The girls golf team had a successful day yesterday in the FVC golf invite at Crystal Woods.  The team fired a score of 404 which was 37 strokes better than last year.  Players made huge improvements in one year as Sydney Marcuccilli improved 29 strokes to shoot 111, Alyssa Tirado improved 24 strokes to shoot a 114, Delaney Marcuccili improved 10 strokes as she carded a 95, Gianna Farinella improved 21 strokes to fire a 95.  Rounding out the scoring for the whips were Jade Swanson’s 108 and Grace Fuller’s personal best score of 106.  We defeated Dundee Crown for our 6th victory this season compared to no victories last year.  Gianna and Delaney were only 2 strokes off of making all conference honors as sophomores.  We hope to carry this momentum into our regional tournament next week as we travel to sycamore.

Hurricane Relief

Want to participate in tomorrow’s Walk-A-Thon but don’t have 10 email addresses to share?  No worries!  We will be collecting money donations during lunch periods today.  Any amount is appreciated and will be donated directly to the American Red Cross.  However, if you want to participate in the walk, you need to donate a minimum of $10.  Show your support for those in need, and donate what you can!

Daughters of the American Revolution Scholarship

Attention seniors.  The Daughters of the American Revolution is running a scholarship contest for a reward amount between $250-$5,000. Please submit a one page essay to Mrs. Wade on the qualities of being a good citizen (dependability, service, leadership and patriotism).  Essay is due by the end of the day, on Tuesday October 3rd.

Sign Language Club

Sign Language Club is starting on Thursday Sept 28th from 3-4pm.  Beginning level will meet in 1008 and intermediate level will meet in 1005.  Hope to see you then!

Teacher of the Quarter

Hey Whips!  Every semester, your HHS teachers vote for students that they think should be Student of the Quarter.  Now, it's your turn! You will be receiving an RCS message with a link to nominate the teacher that you think deserves to be Teacher of the Quarter. Once we tally the top (10) nominations, you will have a chance to vote again among the top nominations and also submit a reason as to why you think this teacher deserves to be Teacher of the Quarter. Nominations will be accepted until next Monday, October 2nd.

JV Girls Tennis

Attention all JV Girls Tennis players. Tonight’s meet against McHenry has been canceled and there will be no practice. Please go directly home after school or to any other obligations you have on your schedule. Once again, there will be no JV Girls tennis meet tonight.

Tri-M Meeting

Tri-M Members: Your next chapter meeting will be on Wednesday, October 4th at 7am or 3pm in the orchestra room. We will then meet with Art Club at 3:25pm that day, so plan to be there if you can. See you there!
