 Senior Class of 2018 reminder! 

Prestige Portraits is here today to take Senior Portraits during your lunch period or ASP.  This is ONLY for seniors who did not take their senior photo during the summer.

Blood Drive

Are you 16 years and older and looking for a way to give back to the victims affected by Hurricane Harvey?  The HHS blood drive will be next Wednesday, September 13th.  Applications are available in Student Services and are due by Monday, September 11th.  Please see Mrs. Wade or Mrs. Sheehan if you have any questions.

Drama Club

The next drama club meeting will be this Thursday, 9/7, at 3:05 in the auditorium. New members are always welcome. We will be voting on new officers at this meeting so all interested should have their prepared statement ready. All current Drama club members are expected to attend. See one of your current officers if you have questions.

Fall Play Auditions

If you are auditioning for the fall play, The Man Who Came to Dinner, please be ready to go by 3:10 in the auditorium. Auditions themselves will start at 3:30 sharp.

Go Gold T-shirts

GO GOLD week is back! Do you want to wear a fashionable ¾ button up baseball shirt, support a great cause, and get in to the games this week for free? The shirts will be sold today through Friday at lunch periods for $10. If you wear the shirt, you will get in free at all Hampshire games next week. Go Gold is a program to fight pediatric cancer, help the cause!

 

Hurricane Harvey Relief

The Village of Hampshire will be collecting items to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey. Items that are needed include water, non-perishable food, clothing, diapers, baby wipes, toiletries, female hygiene products and dog and cat food.  Items can be dropped off at the village hall all this week from 8AM-4PM.

 

Junior Class Officers

Congratulations Junior class officers: president Sean Finneran, vice president Hayley Stanley, secretary Rosie Ramirez and treasurer Alyssa Dimaano. There will be a meeting after school today in Mrs. Hopley’s room 1107. Please see Mrs. Hopley in 1107 or Mrs. Cherry in 3010 if you cannot attend.

 

PBIS

Whippurs!!  PBIS is excited to start the first raffle of the year today!  Gather your purple pay and enter to win 2 tickets to the BEST SEATS IN THE HOUSE for the homecoming game AND 2 tickets to the dance.  All you need to do to enter is add one purple pay to the beautiful, brand new PBIS Raffle Box created by Mr. Jakubowski and some of his students.  The box is located in the Commons near the lunch line.  Your purple pay must be signed by a teacher to be valid.  You may enter as many times as you would like.  The winner will be selected on September 15th!!  Good Luck!

 

Sign Language Club

Sign Language Club is starting on Thursday, Sept. 28. There will be 8 weeks of classes from 3-4 p.m.  Please sign up if interested outside room 1005. We will offer beginning and intermediate levels.  We will decide what rooms will be used when we know how many people are interested.

 

Senior Powder Puff

Seniors girls who have signed up to play powder puff- Don’t forget there is practice today from 5:15-6:15 at the Gary D Wright Lacrosse field! Don’t forget your waiver. See you then! Any questions see Ms. Barber in room 1102.

 

Sophomore Powder Puff

Sophomore powder puff practice for tomorrow 9/6 is canceled due to HHS Open House.

 

JV Soccer

Over the weekend the JV Boys Soccer team participated in the Oregon Invitational. Although the team went 4-0 improving their undefeated record to 7-0-1, they finished in 2nd place due to a total points tiebreaker. Leading the team was defender Omar Sanchez as he was dominant at center back. The boys are back in action this Saturday to keep their perfect record intact against Sycamore.

 

Spanish Club

¿Te gusta el español?  Come join us for our first Spanish Club meeting of the year on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 7 a.m. in 1105.  We welcome everyone!  Bring your ideas to make this year even better than the last.  If you have any questions or need more information please see Sra. Konajeski in 1105.  ¡Hasta jueves!

 

Student Council

Student Council will have a meeting tomorrow morning in room 1104 at 7:10 am.  Anyone interested in joining, please come. 

 

JV Tennis

The Girls JV Tennis team defeated Bartlett last Friday night by the score of 6-1. The Whips once again received strong doubles performances from Sophia Geraci and Sydney Sleper, as well as Lauren Marckini and Julianna Ernst. The Whips will next be in action today at home against Prairie Ridge. We look forward to seeing you there!

 

Varsity Tennis

On Friday, the Varsity Girls Tennis Team faced Bartlett here at home where they swept with a 7-0 victory. Wins from the singles players included a nail-biter match from Alexis Foster, Mari Byker, and Shannon Lukaszuk. Doubles wins came from Katelyn Patthana & Grace Witecha; Kaylee Patthana & Cam Barrientos, Sam Miranda & Sandra Miciak; and Karen Ortega & Mary Ann Santos. The tennis team is away at Prairie Ridge tonight.

 

Tri-M Meeting

Attention all Tri-M members – your first Tri-M meeting of the school year will be this Wednesday, September 6th before school at 7am or after school at 3pm in the orchestra room. See you there!
