In Whip-pur Sports

Congratulations to the frosh/soph boys cross country team for winning the Harlem Invite this past Saturday.  They were led by Isia Morales, Darius Geppi, Jake Louis, Max Beer, and Aiden Moseley.  Sophia Oury also brought home first place in the varsity girls’ race.  Other medalists include Santi Arreola, Elijah Stuart, and Lindsey Baron.

JV Football

The JV football team took on the Rockets of Burlington Central for the last time for the foreseeable future and dominated in all aspects of the game.  The whips won 44-6 behind a stellar defense, dynamic special teams, and a relentless offense.  Ben Curran threw for three touchdowns and Andre Allison and Jimmy Ellis each threw one as well.  On the receiving end of those touchdowns were Andre Allison with one TD, Corve King with two, and Jimmy Ellis with two as well.  Jesse Kindlarski ran for a touchdown and Andre Allison had a punt return for a TD to round out the scoring.  On the defensive side of the ball, Jesus Murillo had an interception and a blocked punt, and Osarobo Asia had a long interception return deep into Rocket territory.  Great job Whips!  Let’s get another victory this Saturday at Cary Grove!

Boys Golf

Despite the lack of announcements the boys’ golf team has been busy this fall.  Yesterday the Whippurs finished in 7th out of 17 teams at Elgin Country Club.  Mark Spitzer led the way for the Whips firing a 78 and taking home a 5th place medal.  Also scoring for the team were Craig Brackee, Bobby Stephenson and Justin Heusmann.  The boys look to get back on track in conference play tomorrow against Huntley.

Varsity Soccer

Led by Ryan Heileman’s hat trick of three goals, the HHS Varsity Soccer team beat Sterling 3-1.  Jack Fairwood controlled the midfield and Andrew Krajecki had 5 saves for the win.   Assists for the 3 goals go to Capt. Braeden Frenette, Jesus Rivera, and Hugo Sztuk Vel Sztukowski.

JV Tennis

The Girls JV tennis team beat Prairie Ridge last night 5-2. The Whips were once again anchored by the strong performances of Paloma Hamilton and Megan Snarski at singles. Stepping up for the Whips at doubles were the teams of Sophia Geraci and Sydney Sleper, Julianna Ernst and Raquel Paniagua, as well as Paris Taylor and Yulianna Soto.  Jannah Majeed and Alessandra Valladeres were also victorious in what amounted as the longest match of the year. The Whips next play at Jacobs this Thursday evening.

Varsity Tennis

The varsity girls’ tennis team traveled to Prairie Ridge last night where they lost 2-5. Despite the loss, excellent matches came from Alexis Foster at 1st singles as well as Sam Miranda and Sandra Miciak at 3rd doubles. Their next match is at home verses Jacobs on Thursday.
