ASVAB

Students interested in a military career should consider taking the ASVAB the morning of April 18th in the Lecture Room.  If you are interested in taking the ASVAB this spring, please sign up in Student Services.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Lis.

Blood Drive

Hey Whips! Are you looking for a great way to get involved and provide an invaluable service to your community? On April 19th, HHS is hosting its final blood drive of the year. To donate, you must be 16 years old and have a signed parent consent form.  Forms are available in Student Services and during all lunches next Tuesday. Students who donate 4 or more times throughout high school will receive a red cord to wear at graduation and will be eligible to apply for the Blood Donation Scholarship.  Help save a life!  Donate blood on the 19th!!

Business Department

Attention seniors! College is right around the corner and Hampshire’s very own business department is giving away a $500 scholarship to our school’s brightest business student.  To apply you must be a senior, have taken 3 or more business classes and have a B or better in each of those classes. You do not want to miss this opportunity. To apply, visit the student services scholarship page or see Mr. Beringer or Mrs. Lutes for further questions. Deadline is April 15th

Golf Tournament

Attention all Boys and Girls who participated on the golf team this year:  If you are interested in attending the Men’s and/or Women’s NCAA Division I championship at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove Illinois, see Coach Ellett in room 2008 for information on how to receive your free ticket of admission.  The tournament takes place from May 19th-May 31st and you can attend any day of your choosing…..they have contests and trick shots as well as the best golfers in the country competing.  Rich Harvest Farms is a private golf course, so this may be your one and only time to see great golf on this golf course…..again, see Mrs. Ellett for ticket information.

Music Parents Scholarship

The Hampshire Music Parents organization annually awards scholarship money to one or more graduating seniors who have demonstrated involvement in the music department at HHS. The purpose of the scholarship is to recognize these efforts and accomplishments of those involved in the music program and to assist financially in the applicant’s continued education at an accredited college or university. The scholarship application is available in student services - deadline for return is Friday, April 28. Please note:  Applicants need not be majoring in music in order to qualify for this scholarship.

Prom Court

Going to prom?  Help us determine the candidates for the 2017 prom court.  Prom court nominations will be open until Wednesday, 19th.  In order to nominate someone for the court, you need to do the following: 1. Access the voting/nomination page from students tab on the HHS website.  2. Use your school email to vote.  (You may only vote once)  3. Submit your answers.  Happy voting! 

Softball

Congratulations to the softball team for earning their first conference win last night by defeating Dundee Crown 4-3 in dramatic comeback fashion!  The girls were led by Delaney Rummell, Morgan Haefling and Emily Egger.  Great job ladies!

Tennis

Hampshire Boys Varsity Tennis defeated Woodstock North, 6-1. Winners were Alex Patthana (1 singles), Mark Brown (3 singles), Aldren Briones and Kohlman Steuber (1 doubles), Blake Snider and Elwood Stuart (2 doubles), Alex Sayavongs and Esteban Molina (3 doubles) and Anthony Insyxiengmay and Marc Agpoon (4 doubles). Varsity tennis is now 7-4 on the season. 

The JV Boys Tennis Team came away with a win yesterday at home against Woodstock North. The Whips were led by another strong performance from Ethan Hammond, who won his third singles matchup. The Whips once again dominated at Doubles, as all four teams came away with match victories. Ben Steuber, Josh Milan, John McCann, Lorenzo Cuevas, Chris Carr, Kier Alimario, and finally, Brandon Si and Alex Luy were all key players. The Whips are back in action today at home when they play Jacobs. Come out and show your support as we add another page to this storied rivalry!
