Course Selection for 2026-27

Course Selection for 2026-27

HHS Students and Families,

The faculty and staff at Hampshire High School are looking forward to working with your student(s) on next school year’s course selection process.

Starting  November 3rd through November 14th, high school counselors will work with all students on the course selection process, specifically providing guidance on the appropriate number of courses to request and explain the process associated with submitted course requests using PowerSchool.

In preparation for submission of course requests, students are encouraged to talk with their teachers regarding both required and elective course suggestions.  While reviewing and investigating courses, students and parents/guardians are encouraged to review the D300 High School Course Selection Guide (located online at https://www.d300.org/HighSchoolInformation) for course descriptions, prerequisites, and departmental course offerings flowcharts.  Parents/guardians will be able to view the student course requests during and after the student selection process in their PowerSchool Parent Portal and are encouraged to discuss the courses their student has chosen prior to their 1:1 meetings with their school counselors.

Starting November 17th, school counselors will begin meeting with current juniors, followed by sophomores in early January, and freshmen in mid-January, to review and confirm course requests and speak with students regarding progression toward D300’s graduation requirements.  Students will receive an invitation from their counselor for their one-on-one appointment.

Summary of upcoming course selection dates:

  • November 3rd  School counselors begin making classroom visits to support students through the course selection process.
  • November 14th   Final day for students to enter course requests into Powerschool.
  • November 17th    School counselors begin meeting with students (one-on-one meetings) to review course requests.

Any students with course-related questions are encouraged to speak with their teachers.   School counselors are available for graduation progression-related questions and will be supporting students by working in classrooms throughout the month of November.
